Graduation Ceremony

Fall

  • Graduation Meeting- TBD
  • Order Cap and Gown and Grad Packages-

Spring

  • Pay all fines- May
  • Pay all fees- May
  • Turn in library books- May
  • Turn in all text books- May
  • Turn in chromebooks/tech items- May
  • Senior Exit survey- May
  • Senior Next Step Plan- May
  • Meet all credits required for graduation- May

Graduation Week

ALL EVENTS ARE MANDATORY! Be on time for all events! Seniors who do not attend the Honors Assembly rehearsal and the assembly itself may not be allowed to walk

Senior Finals 

  • Senior Final Exams
  • 9am to 2pm- Seniors pay fines/fees and return books/tech

Senior failure lists notified

  • 9am to 2pm- Seniors pay fines/fees and return books/tech

Graduation Practice and Senior BBQ

  •  9am to 2pm- Last day to pay fines/fees and return books/tech
  •  seniors that pay fines/fees/return items by the 12th-get cap & gown FAST PASS
  • 2:30 to 3:30- graduation seating practice Main Gym- -MANDATORY 
  • 4 to 6:30- Senior BBQ on soccer field

Graduation Practice- Main Gym

  • 2pm- 4pm- Graduation Practice- Main Gym-  -MANDATORY
  • 4pm -6pm- Cap and Gown Distribution after practice- all fines/fees/books/tech turned in prior mandatory (name pronunciations and movements)  -MANDATORY
  • Seniors that pay fines/fees and return books/tech by May 16th will get FAST PASS (from Mrs. Oglesby in the Library)  for cap and gown pickup. 

Graduation Practice and Robing Ceremony

  • 12pm to 2pm- Graduation Practice in the main gym -MANDATORY
  • 4:45- Graduates and their robing person report. Seniors wear semi-formal wear.  Bring cap and gowns and any approved awards
  • 5:30- Doors open spectators
  • 6pm- Robing Ceremony begins MANDATORY

Graduation- Tingley Coliseum

  • 4:15pm- Seniors need to be already standing in line wearing their cap and gown no later than 4:15pm (Absolutely no extra items or bags)
  • 5:30pm-  Doors will open to spectators
  • 6:30pm-  Commencement Ceremony start time. 
  • 7:45 to 8pm- Parent meet graduates in meet and greet area

Important Notes

  • Graduates must report to graduation wearing their cap and gown/official awards.  Absolutely no extra items/bags/hangers/etc.  If you show up with any extra items, you will need to return to the vehicle to store it and will not be allowed to enter
  • Metal detectors will be utilized for all spectators and graduates
  • Any bags brought by spectators must be clear.  Bags that are not clear must be returned to the vehicle before entering.

Senior Portraits

Take your senior portraits with Ken Brown Photo.  If you take your senior portrait with Ken Brown before the school year starts, you will get your actual senior portrait photo pose on your school ID this year.

All Sessions Booked First Come, First Served Online

See all available appointment times and BOOK ONLINE.

  • All seniors who would like to be in senior section of yearbook must take a yearbook photo with Kenneth Brown Photography
  • The studio is located at 207 Candelaria NW Suite B, Albuquerque, NM 87107.
  • APS dress code is strictly enforced for the yearbook photos. If your outfit does not meet APS dress code you will need to reschedule at your own expense.

Guest Reminders

If you will be joining us for Graduation, we want to remind you of the following rules at Tingley Coliseum for the Commencement Ceremony:

  • All guests entering Tingley Coliseum will be required to walk thru metal detectors. Please allow extra time for this.  You will be required to return any unauthorized items back to your vehicle prior to entering if you have them.
  • Guests will not be permitted to carry in bags unless they are clear.
  • No Weapons
  • No outside food or drink allowed.
  • No Noisemakers
  • No Balloons or Beach Balls
  • No glass vases

Flowers are permitted (West Mesa Senate and West Mesa Ed Rising will be selling flowers at the entrance to give to graduates before the ceremony)
